Verdun is an early-stage startup building the agentic monitoring layer for physical security. The system reviews clips and event windows, classifies the threat, triggers deterrence and notification, and escalates only ambiguous and high-stakes cases to a human operators.
The challenge is making the system honest on messy real-world footage: night / IR, low light, motion blur, compression, occlusion, weather, and site-specific edge cases.
Verdun was founded by an experienced team comprising of Sonny Tai (prev: CEO @ Actuate, $23M raised) and Tung Hoang (prev: Employee #2 @ Actuate, Senior AI Engineer @ LinkedIn, National Math Olympiad Gold Medalist).
